"The building is ornamented with green, blue and tan glazed terra cotta and is highlighted with gold lustered glaze. We are aware of only three other surviving buildings in New York which use this type of glaze. The Automat's fanciful Art Deco ornament is delicately scaled and in keeping with the modest size of the structure." Susan Tunick, Friends of Terra Cotta, author, Terra-Cotta Skyline |
