CECPP Mission
In May 2006, the Citizens Emergency Committee to Preserve Preservation was formed to focus attention on our city's landmark emergency and to implement a campaign to aggressively address the three causes behind it. The Campaign will:

Ensure Fairness: LPC needs new procedures to improve openness and responsiveness to the public. No more deals behind closed doors!

Reestablish Commission Independence: Landmarks commissioners should be properly qualified when they are appointed to the job. Once appointed, they should be free to make the decisions that they think are right.

Secure Appropriate Resources: the LPC needs more staff and funding to meet the mandates spelled out in the Landmarks Law. Click here for a list of supporters of the LPC budget initiative.

LW! was a leading force in creating the Committee last spring.  We have a seat on the campaign's steering committee.  We participate vocally at every meeting.  And we will continue to be at the forefront of this campaign for as long as it takes to get preservation back on track.  The problem is city-wide; the reform effort must be city-wide.
