Despite this new typology sprouting up for years, the Department of City Planning (DCP) relies on decades- old regulations that never envisioned buildings of this scale…or buildings that are over 30% mechanical void, or buildings on illegal 39-sided zoning lots. As developers now propose multi-story slides, and ever-increasing amenities, it is high time for oversight.
