We Need YOU!  Your Neighborhood Needs YOU!
Action is Needed on 3 Major Preservation Issues:

  1. NY State legislators want to raise the FAR Cap meaning even denser developments. After years of attempts, this time it’s written into the State Budget draft.
  2. The Landmarks Preservation Commission wants to change their rules.  Our main concern is that dozens of applications would now be handled completely out of view by staff: without the Community Board, without public postings, without public testimony, and without Commissioner review.
  3. The Board of Standards & Appeals will hear the community appeal of the gerrymandered lot at 200 Amsterdam Avenue…even after the DOB admitted they made a mistake in initially granting permits!

These concerns all hang in the balance RIGHT NOW and need your action:

CONTACT your State Assemblymember and urge them to shut down the Senate’s efforts to eliminate the “Floor Area Ratio” (FAR) cap from the Multiple Dwelling Law. Ask them not to include the bill in the final budget to be passed by the Legislature.
