On Monday, May 22, 2017, Sean Khorsandi, Advocacy Director at LANDMARK WEST!, delivered what had been dubbed ‘a visual tour of the view’ out of an office window. MSCi is an independent provider of research-driven insights and tools for institutional investors, so not a bank, but bankish. Their office is on the 48th and 49th floors of 7 World Trade Center, with stunning floor to ceiling wraparound views. Not only can one see all of downtown Manhattan, but on a clear day, well into New Jersey, the boroughs, and beyond. Monday was not a clear day. If you looked straight down to the street, you could make out some building shapes. Luckily, Sean prepared a beautiful deck of 100 images illustrating the history of lower Manhattan.

Because of strong response, they’d opened up all three conference rooms on the 48th floor to accommodate the approximately 75 people who showed up for the lunch time event. The event was hosted by the Women in EFTs organization and MSCi.

Sean spoke for just over an hour and then opened up the floor for questions, many of which were fairly technical in nature, regarding zoning, increased density, its effect on infrastructure, and historic subway capacity – a sure sign that someone was paying close attention!
