The lead New York Times headline read: “U.S. Seems Puzzled by Soviet Stance on Space Weapons,” outlining a very real ‘Star Wars’ potential.

In other news, Page B4’s “West Siders Fight School on Plan to Build Tower” outlined the endowment-less Walden’s school plan to demolish their 1904 Louis Korn-designed building (pictured HERE) for a condominium development (pictured HERE).
