Six to Celebrate 2025: Manhattan Avenue
LANDMARK WEST! is excited to be part of the Historic Districts Council’s Six to Celebrate Class of ’25!
The subject of our project, Manhattan Avenue was intended to be called “New Avenue” when first planned in 1872-1873, so we channeled the most famous “New Street” we knew–the Strada Nuova in Genoa, Italy.
Explore with us as we examine the stretch from the “Old Community”–Park West Village, north to the Manhattan Avenue Historic District, and check back here for updates on our research and progress as we strive to recognize this district with National Register Status.
