City Council Vote to Give Themselves a Raise

The City Council is expected to vote to give themselves a raise from $112,500 to $148,500 (and $164,500 for Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito), far in excess of inflation and what an official Quadrennial (pay raise) Commission recommended, as reported by the New York Daily News.  Coincidentally (?) the vote on Intro. 573-a, aka the Horse Carriage “compromise” is scheduled for the same session.
