Hey KIDS!

Each of our programs have also been re-imagined just for you, so you can even explore on your own! Each button will take you to a different program where a virtual classroom will guide you through all the program activities.

So get your pens and paper ready, and don’t forget to share your creations with us!

Let’s Start Creating!

Neighborhood Explorers

Discover all of the different pieces that make up your commuity! Learn all about the buildings where people live, eat, and ship while imagining your dreams for the future.

Local History Detectives

What did your neighborhood look like 100 years ago? Explore old photographs and maps to see how the streets around you have changed over time.

Neighborhood Poetry

Inspiration is all around us! Explore the sights, sounds, and poetry of the city through sensory poems written about New York. Create your own poems to share your perspective.

Landmark Explorers

How can we protect our buildings? Why should we protect buildings and places? Learn about what landmarks are and how they are designated, then explore them around your neighborhood.

Design Detectives

Take a deep dive into the architecture of our city! Learn about the styles and features of buildings right here in our neighborhood, then become a budding architect by using those clues to design your own buildings.

Shape Detectives

There are shapes everywhere! If you look hard enough, you can find them in the buildings, parks, and streets all around you. Learn how architects put shapes together to build new things!

KPF is made possible by the contributions of former Council Members Ben Kallos and Mark Levine, as well as the Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA). It is also made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts (NSYCA) with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature. With their support, Landmark West’s KPF program offers a suite of seven 3-part courses aligned with the NYC Core Curriculum in Upper West Side public schools for free every year.
