Gems of Riverside Drive: 103rd to 108th Streets Walking Tour

The second LW! walk exploring the architectural and historic riches of the Upper West Side’s northernmost historic districts. Beginning at 103rd Street, we’ll view classic early 20th century apartment buildings of West End Avenue, remarkably preserved row houses lining adjacent side streets, and an extraordinary group of townhouses along Riverside Drive — including Manhattan’s last free standing mansion that remains a private home. We’ll uncover traces of the Colonial-era Bloomingdale Road and then loop south to visit Straus Park and the Art Deco gem that is the former Horn & Hardart Automat.
