Description: A female figure, lying on her back with a small child balanced on her leg.  The mother and child hold hands and face each other.

Located at Fordham University, On Columbus Avenue near 60th Street, New York, New York

Remarks: The model for this sculpture was originally cast in plaster, and depicts one of sculptor’s Chaim Gross’s favorite subjects. Another cast is installed at the entrance to the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center in Jerusalem, and a smaller earlier version is in the permanent collection of the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, Kalamazoo, Michigan.
