Description: (from David Dunlap’s From Abyssinian to Zion) “Almost lost in the folds of Lincoln Center, at 152 West 66th Street, is one of the handsomest Romanesque Revival churches in New York, with a broad arched entry way of superimposed brick courses. It was built in 1887 to designs by J.C. Cady & Company for the Church of the Good Shepard. The Faith half of the hyphenated congregation is descended from the Faith Chapel of the West Presbyterian Church, at 423 West 46th Street, now St. Clement’s Episcopal Church. Quite appropriately, given its location and acoustics, Good Shepard-Faith Presbyterian Church has been a concert venue since the 1960s. It has also served the Korean Central Church and the Catholic Apostolic Parroquia del Espiritu Santo y de Nuestra Senora de la Caridad.”
